Checking the Engine Oil

1. Park Your Vehicle:

  • Ensure your vehicle is on its center stand and on a firm, level surface.

2. Warm Up the Engine:

  • If the engine is cold, start it and let it idle for 3 to 5 minutes to reach the proper operating temperature.

3. Turn Off the Engine:

  • Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position and wait for 2 to 3 minutes. This allows the oil to settle.

4. Remove the Oil Fill Cap/Dipstick:

  • Carefully remove the oil fill cap/dipstick and wipe it clean with a cloth or paper towel.

5. Check the Oil Level:

  • Insert the oil fill cap/dipstick back into its place until it seats, but do not screw it in.
  • Pull it out again and check the oil level. Ensure the oil level is between the upper and lower level marks on the dipstick.

6. Reinstall the Oil Fill Cap/Dipstick:

  • Once the oil level is checked, securely reinstall the oil fill cap/dipstick to prevent any leaks.

Adding Engine Oil

If the engine oil level is below or near the lower level mark, you will need to add the recommended engine oil.

1. Prepare to Add Oil:

  • Remove the Oil Fill Cap/Dipstick: Unscrew the oil fill cap/dipstick and set it aside.
  • Add the Recommended Oil: Carefully pour in the recommended engine oil until it reaches the upper level mark on the dipstick.

Important Tips:

  • Park Properly: Make sure your vehicle is on its center stand and on a firm, level surface when checking or adding oil.
  • Avoid Overfilling: Do not fill above the upper level mark to prevent engine damage.
  • Keep it Clean: Ensure no foreign objects enter the oil filler opening.
  • Clean Spills Immediately: Wipe up any spilled oil right away to avoid slips and stains.

2. Reinstall the Oil Fill Cap/Dipstick:

  • Securely reinstall the oil fill cap/dipstick to prevent leaks and ensure the engine is properly sealed.
